So what is Smunch?

We deliver delicious lunches to companies all over town so that office people can enjoy their breaks to the fullest. So if your office was a hotel, we’d be room service. 

Most of the companies we cater for choose us as their everyday lunch program. Why? Our food can be subsidized through meal allowances, saving the employer not only the costs of running a canteen, but also taxes and social security payments. 

And for busy shift work and events, we also have catering and smart fridge option with the same wholesome meals 24/7.

Our food is super fresh and healthy, and as we have dozens of partner restaurants that take turns preparing it, we can offer a huge variety. Basically, it’s like eating out in a different part of the city every day.


How did we get started?

It’s not long ago that two clever minds called Shivram and Oliver were working for the same company in Berlin. They liked their jobs, but they agreed that they were fed up with the daily hunger games at work, and besides, cool people only queue at clubs, not to buy lunch.

So they considered ordering from a classic delivery service, but soon realized that the food often arrived too late and orders never made it to the office at the same time. So they decided a new lunch program for companies was needed!


Everything started with a team of three people, an idea and a tiny office space in Berlin-Mitte. At first, the ‘kitchen’ was just a small fridge with a pad coffee machine and orders were made on Excel sheets.

Within five years, the company evolved from taking these first tentative baby steps to catering for offices in various German cities.Growing with current trends, Smunch also introduced a Smart Fridge as well as fruit basket and snack box options to make food accessible to teams all day long. Our team now counts over 100 happy and busy Smunchkins on a simple mission:

Having  wholesome food at work should be as natural as having a desk. We’re sure you agree!
